The conflict between a secure British Standard accredited front door nightlatch and fire safety recommendations has now been overcome thanks to the new Emergency Escape nightlatch from Yale.

The product is simple in design, yet meets the BS8621 standard.

A thumbturn on the interior of the door ensures emergency escape (hence the product name) in the event of a fire. The exterior of the door is taken from the Yale PBS-1 nightlatch and ensures high security.

The product is available from June in two finishes; brasslux and satin chrome.
