Yale Global responsibility
Yale strongly believe in responsible social and ethical behaviour
At Yale we believe in responsible social and ethical behaviour; that we can make a positive contribution to sustainable development both through our operations and our products.
Our commitment to sustainable development is backed by our top management and integrated throughout the organisation.
Wherever we operate in the world, we seek to be a responsible player, by demanding high workplace standards of integrity and fair dealing from our personnel as well as all our distributors and suppliers.
To help us secure an environmentally sound, ethical, people-focused and safe working environment where we operate we put a lot of focus on compliance to the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct.
Yale is a part of the ASSA ABLOY Group and ASSA ABLOY has been included in the FTSE4Good Index Series since March 2004. The FTSE4Good Index Series was developed to identify companies that meet globally recognized corporate responsibility standards.
ASSA ABLOY has a rather ambitious Sustainability Program 2007 – 2010, encompassing 20 objectives and activities. ASSA ABLOY will phase out chlorinated solvents and hexavalent chromium from it's manufacturing by 2008 and 2010 respectively.
ASSA ABLOY will also drive an energy efficiency project within internal manufacturing. The objective is to save 15% in energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions, based on 2006 year's emissions and relative to production. Savings should be achieved by 2012.
